Game: Gat out of hell - My impressions & opinions

Gat out of hell is Saints rows standalone expansion. It story that is set in motion is that Gat and Kenzie travel to hell to find the boss(your character from previous Saints row games). There is really not much to say about this game. It feels just like Saints row 4, and it plays like Saints row 4. Its got the same humor and the same fun as Saints row 4. In short, if you want more Saints row 4, this is the product for you.

One of the new things in Gat out of hell is the fact that you can play co-op, with one of you playing Gat and the other one playing Kenzie. This is also how i played it, with a friend. This is, in my opinion, the best way to play it. To play and laugh with a friend of all the jokes and hilarity is something wonderful.

Like in Saints row 4 you can fly and thus you have no need for stealing cars. The collecting of clusters to buy upgrades is also back, and it is still boring to collect them. This is easily the most annoying mechanic they have brought from Saints row 4.

My biggest problem with Gat out of hell is that the quest's or mission's are so repetitive. You feel like you are doing the same thing over and over again and it get old fast.

One thing i really like to say is that i love the dialog and the voice acting this time around. Daniel Dae Kim as Gat is perfect, cudoz.

TL;DR

Standalone expansion to Saints row 4, that feel and plays like Saints row 4(not surprisingly). Stupid funny story that you can do co-op. There are some animation bugs but nothing game-breaking. Still collecting clusters for upgrades which is so boooring. Story length about 4 hours.

Game: Heroes of the Storm - Impression & Opinion

A lot of people have been waiting for their access to heroes of the storm, so Blizzard did the profitable thing and started selling beta access. They have called it Founder's pack. For the price of 35 Euro you get 3 heroes, 3 skin-variations for those heroes, a mount, 2500 gold and your beta access to the game. So, the heroes you get in the pack are Diablo, Raynor and Tyrande. These all feel like low to medium heroes. It is not often you see anyone with more heroes pick Diablo and there is probably a good reason for that. That makes me come into the way they do heroes. They have free weeks just like LoL and other MOBA's. I don't like this way of doing it mostly because i am coming from DOTA2 where you get all heroes for free. All you pay for there is cosmetics.

The way you get more heroes are easy though. You either buy them for real cash or you use your in-game gold. Like mentioned above you get 2500 gold when you buy the pack so you might be wondering how much that really is. The cheapest heroes are 2000 and the most expensive are 15000. There is only one who is 15000 and that is Thrall, probably so expensive because he is a new hero. Most heroes I personally want are at the 10000 gold mark. So what do we get gold for? We get gold from doing daily quest's, winning matches, playing matches, reaching a certain player-level or reaching a certain hero-level. If you get a hero up to level 5 you get 500 gold. 32 heroes in-game, so there is a lot too get from that but it takes some time. Hitting player-level 2 and 4 will get you 1000 gold for each. Hitting player level 8 and 10 will give you 2000 for each. And then there are daily quests. I don't know all the different awards but i know i have had one that payed 300 gold. The last way i know of that you get gold is by playing matches. You get 20 gold for playing a match and another 10 gold for winning a match. What i see in all this is that it will take me a long time to get all the heroes unless I want to become a credit-card hero and pay cash for my heroes. There is also some packs and bundles in their in game shop but i have not used the shop yet so I know nothing about it.

They do a lot of thing right with this game. One thing I really like about this game is that it got 32 heroes from some of my favorite games of all time in Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo. There are no items like in other MOBA's so it is up too you, your team and your skill to get it done, no way of stacking protection or crit. This game has more than one map(which usually is the case for other MOBA's). Right now it has six, Sky temple, Garden of terror, Blackheart's bay, Dragonshire, Haunted mines and Cursed hollow. All these maps got some kind of objective for players to do which also is not seen in other MOBA's. For instance, on Cursed hollow there will spawn tributes. The team that can collect 3 tributes makes the other team cursed. All their minions get 1 hp and their towers and keeps stop firing for about 1 minute. Only 1 tribute spawns at a time, never more, so the fighting around the tribute is often hectic and hardcore. Thanks to these objectives, the fact that your team share experience and there no items to farm for makes for more intense games. You never stop to wait for your carry to farm or anything like that nonsense, and this also makes games much faster. I have not had a game be over 35 minutes yet.

When you hit level 30 you can finally get into hero league. I have not hit 30 yet so i don't know how people play there but to have the option between playing ranked or casual is a great thing. It is a long way to go all the way to 30 but it will make you ready for ranked play though.

TL;DR

Heroes of the storm is a fantastic game. Beautiful maps, intense combat and the focus on teamwork is great. No items is great and playing as beloved characters from Blizzard's great universes is fun. Is it worth 35 EURO for beta access to a game that is said to be free to play when it comes out. Only if you are a die hard MOBA fan. It's expensive for very little actual content. Only 3 heroes is not good enough for that price. The game is not finished either. Would you pay 35 EURO for an early access game? I also feel like you get gold to slow. I get that they want to make money but damn that's expensive. But having to pay for beta at all is really sad. I did not think Blizzard would do this. Blizzard, you were the chosen one. The one to break the evil circle. As said, are you a die hard fan, buy it. Its a lot of fun and the short matches makes it easy to just pick up and play one match. If you are not a fan and just curious or got other things to play then wait for the release or maybe an sale.

Game: H1Z1 – Patch 20\1

I was probably not the nicest in my first impression of this game, and I think I was right but a lot has changed since then. The developer have given us a couple of patches and i have to admit, it gets a lot better. It still have a couple of problems but it is a lot better then what it was on it's early access release. I still have changed how i play games because of this game. For instance, i killed a player, i did not try to talk to him or anything. Just shoot him dead in fear of death and my greed for loot.

Another thing for me personally is that i am learning the map. I know almost always where i am at all times. It is smaller then some of it competitors have, at least that is what i have heard and i think that is a good thing. I can group up with my friends fast and not as much running as in other games in the same genre. The only thing i am thinking now is that there could be more on the map(maybe army base, hospital, amusement park or something like that), there is a lot of empty space.

One thing that kinda annyoes me is that it is a lot harder to find blades, knifes, axes(sharp objects), but they have put out a lot more canned food. The problem is though that you need blades and sharp objects to get meat from animals and you know, survive. Not game-breaking but makes it really hard to start a new character.

A thing that is very cool is that a lot of zombies have drops now. They drop items(I have gotten backpacks, shotgun shells and a lot more). Zombies also have the loot of players if they have killed a player. It also seems like zombies get attracted when you do thing, like making a fire, chopping down a tree and things like that. It makes you think a little about if you can handle a lot of zombies or if you need a heal first. It also helps that they have removed the possibility to destroy items. So the server dosnt go empty on items because if you are full you have to drop something.

They also have fixed how much you're states drop when you walk around and do things. You won't get hungry and thirsty as fast and i love it.

The last thing i want to touch on is the pay-to-win mechanic. It is not pay-to-win at all, in my opinion. The first thing about airdrops is that you can't use it unless a set amount of players are on the server. That means that you can't just stack up on an empty server. The next thing is that the package does not land at your feet. It can be far from you and that brings another problem. All players see this and they will come hunting for your box. Also, there are zombies in the package. So if someone buys a airdrop, go take it and ruin their day.

TL;DR:

A lot of problems are patched and fixed. It is still early access and are not finished. Very nice graphics, nice atmosphere and the game is shaping up good. If you don't love the genre or got friends on it, wait for more content. It is not pay-to-win.

Game: H1Z1 - First impression

H1Z1 – First impressions

To start of, i did not get to play the game at it's early access launch because like a lot of games lately it did not have an nice and easy start. I expected problems though since it was early access.

So i get up the next day, ready to survive. Starting in the middle of a forest with little to no clue on what's going on. What else can i do but to start walking, and i walk and walk and walk. Instantly i get flashbacks to DayZ Standalone. After something that felt like far to long of walking in the woods i find a road. I just keep following the road and found a nice cluster of houses thinking that if this is like DayZ its lootin' time. Suddenly i saw something, a problem, a scary problem. It was...MAN(bum bum buuuuu).

Again, remembering back to DayZ the people you meet are evil and will kill you just for the fun of it. It's not for the loot or anything, they just kill for fun. I said through the in-game voice-chat that I was a friendly, had just spawned and did not want them any harm. I think they took that as a sign of aggression and so my little life i H1Z1 was over.

I then brushed of myself and spawned again. Back to the forest, oh how i have not missed this forest, but i will admit that i got out of the woods a lot quicker this time around. Soon I saw a road again, same tactics, follow the road. After some walking i find a church and my mind goes back to thinking about looting. So here i was, looting a church(not my proudest hour but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do), when suddenly i hear noises outside. Oh no, MAN is back. Then i feel something i haven't felt in a long time. I am actually scared of the other player. Maybe he is friendly but i would rather hide then find out. I had gone from «Let's survive together» to saying «go away», mentally of course. I can't trust humanity to stand together in a zombie outbreak anymore, and that is messed up.

Some time later i find myself in a little town where i have looted around in all the houses for over 30 minutes and not a single piece of loot. Everything is empty. I do not look forward to the night that is creeping over me. I open my inventory to see if i have found anything to help me hold my stats up(guess what, i had nothing) and i see something down in the left corner. I didn't know what it was and then it hit me. God damn micro transactions. You can get airdrops if you pay for them. Granted i do not know what's inside the airdrops but i am guessing equipment and such. I was kind of angry when i saw this. The men with the cash will yet again kill the poor man.

I have been running for a while now and I see some buildings coming up. My hope for loot and food rises again. I am down too about 11% energy. I am starving and losing health. After about one hour of searching i have found an empty bottle and a car battery. I can not eat either of them. Then, feeling life fading away i find something beautiful. An empty gun and some chili. I am back in the fight baby. Feeling better than ever. After some more running i had to drink some dirty water. It sucks but i found a cop car too and was kind of excited. Problem was, i did not have the parts needed to get it going. Got out of the car and started walking when i hear sounds. Two guys came out from the forest, got in the cop car and ran my ass over. People, am i right. What a bunch of rascals.

Needles to say, i was done going by myself. It's dangerous to go alone.

New day, new possibilities. Me and 3 friends go into the game. First things first, finding each other. If you survive long enough to find each others and group up you still need to find weapons or even more important, food and water. It is so hard to find food and now you are trying to find enough for 4 players. It is not easy. But the most danger is still meeting other players with way more equipment than you have who kills all just for the fun of it.

This has been my experience with H1Z1 and it is not so bad that it sounds. It has an fantastic atmosphere and you really need to have eyes everywhere. The guy you trust might just shoot you in the back of your head. There is also an crafting system in place. I have not had to much time to play with it but it seems to get you what you need if you put in the time to learn to make what you need.

Something i miss are things like zombie packs or actually dangerous zombies. A little more loot and varied loot would be nice. Also, you cant create a character with the same name as a character you have on another server. Don't know why that is but it's not gamebreaking, just a little annoying. There could be a little more streetsigns or something like that so it would be easier to know where you are. There are way to few EU-servers and a lot of queue time on most servers.

TL;DR:

This is another zombie survival game on early access. We are starting to get a lot of them. This looks and sounds like a good idea but the lack of loot and no real danger(not counting players) makes it a little dull. This game will probably be very good when it is done, but for now it is missing some pieces. Is more fun with friends than alone. The question that needs to be answered is this: do you(and your friends?) think you will be playing H1Z1 or DayZ when they are completed?
