Next up is Microsoft and Xbox.
Hopefully they show us greatness.
Too open the show they got the game
that made Xbox sell in the first place, Halo. More specifically Halo
5: Guardians. This is a safe way to open the show but it was damn
good to see Master Chief again in a proper sequel. It looks great and
it's probably going to be fantastic. These guys know how to make
Halo, even though it's not Bungie doing it anymore. They also showed
us what Warzone in Halo 5 looked like.
Next up we got to see Recore, made by
Keiji Inafune and the creatores of Metroid Prime. I don't know
enough about this game to really know what to say about this. The
trailer looked really good and it looks like it might be a very
emotional game but other than that i really don't know. All i know is
that it's a very talented team that is making it.
After that we got to see a little game
called Fallout 4. What is there to say about this. It looks great and
the fans of the series seem very happy about what they have seen. The
only thing is that it was more or less what we got to see at the
Bethesda conference. It looks great and the freedom they are
promising sounds awesome.
The next game they showed was Plants
vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. Not a game that is for me but it looks
great for what it is with the corny humor. It looked like it sounds.
It looked like Garden Warfare but with new maps and some new units.
Forza Motorsport 6 looks stunning as
always. Again, not a game-series i play but you can't deny the
popularity of the series. Beautiful racing-game, nothing more to say.
Dark Souls 3 was next up and i got
mixed feelings about this. Sure there is a huge fan-base for the game
and it's a great game-series but are they flooding the market? It's
not that long ago that we got Bloodborne and so on. They have to be
careful so they don't flood the marked and kill of this genre as we
have seen happened with other games. Having said that it looked
really beautiful and you it's going to play great. Looking forward to
this one.
The Hololens Demo was something
everyone was impressed with, except for me. Don't get me wrong, it
was extremely cool to see the tech in action and they showed some
very impressive things but why Minecraft. Minecraft is probably the
easiest game to put it in to. I wonder how graphicintensive games it
can play. Can i use it with Civilization 5 or when i do 3D Modeling?
I need to see it used on something else than Minecraft. It looks cool
but what can it really do.
Next up was one of my most anticipated
games, Tom Clancy's The Division. The problem is that it was only a
trailer and not a particular good one. It just felt like just another
trailer. Obviously Ubisoft wanted the big gameplay demo of for their
own conference but they should have gotten a better trailer. It
didn't give me anything.
Another game for Ubisoft where you know
that the better showing of it will be at the Ubisoft conference but
Rainbow Six: Siege looked good. It shows us that they have more than
just rescue missions. This was a bomb diffuse mode. The only thing
that makes me kinda nervous now we already got something like this
and it's called Counter.-Strike.
Gigantic is a game i really don't know
enough of to say much. It has an cool art style and it looked like it
played good enough but i don’t know anything else about it. That
goes for Ashen and Tacoma too. Don't know anything about it but it
was good to see.
The sequel to one of my favorite games
the last 5 years is Rise Of The Tomb Raider. I cant wait for this
game, it looks great. The demo was really not anything special. I
would rather have seen some combat than some climbing. I mean come
on, it's Tomb Raider, we know there will be climbing and we know from
earlier that they the climbing in the game works. Still excited
though.
Beyond Eyes is another game that i
don't really know enough of to talk really good about but it looks
great. Looks kinda different and that's most likely a good thing.
Cuphead, another game i know way to
little about but damn the art style is so cool. It looks like a 30's
cartoon. Fantastic.
The sci-fi game Ion looked more like
Adrift from last year then anything new. I can't say that it excites
me but it might be good. We'll just have to wait to see more of it.
Next up was Rare Replay, a collection
of 30 Rare games. When i say Rare games it's like Rare the developer,
not that they are hard to find. While it's good to see those old
classic titles again and jeeeij for nostalgia it's not something they
should use a lot of time on on a conference. We who care knows about
it and if people are interested they will google what it is. Do not
waste time on 20 year old games when we see E3 for new games.
Fable legends looks ok. Not my kinda
game but i guess for Fable fans it looks amazing. They didn't really
show anything more than a little video. Not that we needed more, if
I’m not mistaken they have already showed some earlier.
Sea of Thieves looks ridiculous. It
looks fun. It looks like something that you would play for hours and
hours. This is yet again something i know way to little about to say
that people should buy but it looks great, it looks fun and it
doesn't take itself to seriously. Can't wait to see more of this one.
Next up they showed us a little from
Gears of War 4. I have always loved this franchise. I have always
bought Gears of War on launch-day and i have always had a blast
playing them. We didn't get to see much of Gears of War 4 and i think
we will have to wait a long time before it comes out. They also
showed some of the remastered Gears of War 1. May biggest complain
about this is that i think it should be Gears of War 1 – 3
remastered collection. Like they did with Halo. I don't know if one
old game remastered is enough to sell. It's still a good game though
and i recommend it for sure.
Another thing they talked about was how
they had made the Xbox One backwards compatible. That’s great. You
can play your Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One but if i understood
this correct you put in the xbox 360 disc and then it downloads the
game. This means that first of all, you need internet. Secondly it
means that you can play only the games that they make backwards
compatible, which they said that they had 100 games or so backwards
compatible. So, it's cool that it's backwards compatible but i do not
agree with how it's done. Some games will probably never be backwards
compatible and it's a damn shame.
That's more or less Microsofts
conference at E3 and what can i say. It was good. Better than it's
been in some time. But kinda predictable and no real surprises.
Nothing that really stood out. Well, except for maybe Recore but
that's not enough. They had no game that would really sell systems
except for maybe Halo 5. Microsofts conference, good but not great.
