Movie: New Police Story – My opinion

A cop leads his team into a trap and he is the only survivor. He's drowning his guilt in booze when he eventually get a younger new partner who turns out too have his own secrets.

This is a reboot of the Police Story series. Jackie Chan is still in it but now he plays another character named Chan Kwok-Wing and guess what, he's fantastic in this. I know i have said he's been good earlier but this time he's at his absolute greatest. He shows us a lot of emotions and every emotion he shows he sells beautifully. Jackie Chan is not the only one showing his great acting-capabilities in this, Nicholas Tse is fantastic to see on screen and he has great chemistry with Jackie Chan. Even the bad-guys are interesting this time. Great cast, great characters

The story is a lot better this time around. First of all they got rid of the awkward comedy that i had a problem with. The movie itself is a lot darker in tone too. It feels more grown up, a little more aimed at adults. Very good action too, the fight choreography is top notch. This is by far my favorite installment in the Police Story series.

TL;DR

Fantastic movie with a fantastic story, Jackie Chan is at his best. This is my favorite in the Police Story series. Great action and fight choreography. They still speak Cantonese but this movie can be enjoyed by all. Simply fantastic.

My question for you:
Does it matter what language they speak in movies? Can you easily watch movies from like Hong Kong or does the fact that they speak another language stop you from enjoying the movie?

Shortfilm: Power/Rangers – My opinion

This is something i feel like really needs to be shared. This is something from my childhood made for an adult audience and it works. Oh, what a time to be alive.

A man with the name of Adi Shankar(producer for Dredd) have made an fantastic short-film of what we who grew up with the Power Rangers(and are fans of the Power Rangers) hopes for every time we hear that there is a Power Rangers movie in the works. It show us that it is possible to make this franchise for adults and fans of the first seasons, not only for kids.

First of you get Katee Sackhoff(Battlestar Galactica) as the pink ranger, which is a great choice, and then you get James Van Der Beek(Dawson's Creek) who shows us again that he can really act(his acting capabilities first came to my attention when i saw him in a double-episode on Criminal Minds)

As i said earlier, it's an short film so the run-time is about 14 minutes at it leaves you wanting more, at least it did for me. It's gritty, it's for adults, it's fantastic. I want more, I need more.

TL;DR

This is Power Rangers for adults. Good action, good acting, fantastic short film. Just please watch it.

Movie: Sharknado – My opinion

I assume most of you have heard of this movie. It got tweeted all over the internet because of it funny/stupid name and the name went viral. First of let's talk about the production company behind the movie. The asylum is well know for making mockbusters. For you who don't know, a mockbuster is a film created with the apparent intention of piggy-backing on the publicity of a major film with a similar title or theme and is often made with a low budget(yes i copied that from Google). Some examples of this is Atlantic Rim(the real one is Pacific Rim), Transmorphers(the real one being Transformers), Almighty Thor(the real one is Thor) and of course Snakes on a Train(the real one being Snakes on a Plane). So besides having mockbusters they also have their monstermovies, these include Mega Piranha, Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, Mega Shark Versus Crocosaurus and Mega Shark Versus Mecha Shark. These are movies are made on a low budget, straight to TV. These movies are well know to be extremely bad. So over on to Sharknado.

The plot of Sharknado is explained in the title of the movie. There is a tornado and it has sucked sharks up from the sea and are coming towards town. I kind of like the idea behind the movie. It could have been something weird but excellent. Sadly it's just weird. With a very lazy written script and no character development there isn't much of a movie left. When your special-effects are insanely bad and you are reusing shots like a crazy person it's barely watchable. Story is silly and i was actually hoping for more.

We got some real actors in this movie too(i use the phrase lightly). You get both Ian Ziering(Beverly Hills 90210) and Tara Reid(Van Wilder, American Pie). I have to say, even though Ian is not insanely good he does what he can with the role he has. It kind of works. However, Tara could not act herself out of a plastic bag. If you have seen any of her later work, like Alone in the Dark, you will know what i mean. Her character is borderline useless too, only one that is worse is probably her daughter that is just whining and bringing up problems she have at the worst time. It's like raining sharks and she wants to discuss family-problems. Damn woman, if you don't focus on the sharks you wont have a family to have problems with soon. There is also a son in there somewhere but he's busy being bland so there is really nothing to say about him. There are also some other people with them but none of them are very interesting. But guess what, I'm not here to watch the people, I'm here for the sharks. Make it rain. Since I'm here for the sharks every minute without a shark on screen is boring, and it truly is. Clunky and bad dialog, stupid people saying stupid things. Luckily there are more fun parts then bad parts(thanks to the sharks) so it may be kind of worth a watch, with friends, and lots of booze. Now, they just need to find out how to kill a tornado, or rather, a sharnado. When the 86 minutes are up and the movie is over, you feel like a changed man.

But wait, there's more. Because everyone had to checkout what this was it got a goddamn sequel. And not only one, no, it get's two sequels. One of theme is already released and it's called Sharknado 2: The Second One. Come on people, you can do better than that. The third one is just called Sharknado 3 for now. I'm so hoping for a great undertitle on that one. Hopefully the sequels are good though, right.

TL;DR

Stupid stupid movie, with a stupid script, stupid characters and stupid effects. Sharks in a tornado is good and all but the execution of this movie is so bad it's cringeworthy. If you don't like bad movies this is not for you, if you don't like sharks this is not for you. This is not for the average moviegoer. It's bad in all the wrong places. If you are going to watch it make sure you don't do it alone and you should not be sober. This is a bad movie and i bet the sequels is not going to be better.

Movie: Police Story 3: Super Cop – My opinion

Chan Ku-kai teams up with the military police force's Interpol director Jessica Yang to stop Chinese drug smugglers. To infiltrate the smugglers Chan Ku-kai poses as a petty criminal to help Panther, one of the smugglers, who are being held in an Chinese prison labor camp to gain his trust.

A lot of the same problems that are in the two predecessors are present in this one two, especially the weird humor pieces. A couple of new things happens to, like that they got a new director(this is the first one not directed by Jackie Chan). We also have the wonderful Michelle Yeoh as Jessica Yang. This movie also have the last appearance of Chan's girlfriend, May. I would have removed her from the story earlier i think. She is not useful at all. I don't feel like her character fit into the movies and she was there only for the awkward humor. The story of the movie is not quite as good as in the two predecessor but the action is still great. What is really sad is that the last fight doesn't feel as great as in previous movies.

TL;DR

The weakest entry in the Police Story series up until now. Still some awkward humor. Jackie Chan is still good and Michelle Yeoh is great. Good action and fights. A little more mainstream feeling on the whole movie. It is still in Cantonese. I don't think the average movie-watcher would like this. This movie is one of those you can skip and don't feel bad about it.

Game: Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Season 2

I have been playing the second season for about 22 hours when i write this.

New season means new loot and it feels great. It also feels good to start a new character again. I know that sounds weird but i really liked seeing the achievements ticking in and so on. In the start the loot feels really good too, almost everything is an upgrade but then, after about an hour, the grind starts again. Doing the same zones over and over and over too get that one piece of loot and when you get it it rolls bad so you need to farm another one.

They have introduced Ancient loot that is a little better than legendary. It's nice of them to give us more loot but it doesn't help very much. It's the same loot with a little better stats, i would have liked to see a lot more new loot. And you still have to farm for this loot to and personally i feel that is boring. After a couple of hours you start hating loot, i did start too hate it, and that is not good in a game that bases itself on the loot.

TL;DR

New season started with new loot but you still have to do the farming to get it. If you like Diablo for the farming and all that it always have been you will probably like to play this season. If you want something new and maybe a little different i don't think this season is for you. In my opinion, too little changes too show that this is a new season. Hopefully they'll patch in more content.

Movie: Police Story 2 – My opinion

Chan Ka-kui have been demoted to highway patrol after the events of the last movie but when a group of bombers start planting bombs and making demands he steps into action again.

This one works a lot like the first one, a lot of weird and awkward humor, great fight scenes and an ok story. Jackie Chan's fighting is fantastic but the bad-guys are just as good this time around. While the end fight in the first movie was great the end fight in this one is even better. Again they show the stunt crew and their injuries through the end credits and the dedication is still impressive. This movie, like the first one, is for hardcore Jackie Chan fans, martial-arts fans or Hong Kong movie fans. If you are an average moviegoer I don't think you will like this one either and like the first one this one is made in Cantonese too.

TL;DR

It has an ok story with awkward humor and better fighting then the first one. Great characters and very well shot action. It is in Cantonese and I don't think the average moviegoer would like it. I think that, in my opinion, this one is better then the first one.

Movie: Police Story 1 – My opinion

Lately I've been watching the Police Story series and a couple of them might be worth checking out. I watched Police Story 1, Police Story 2, Police Story 3: Super Cop, New Police Story and Police Story 2013. I did not watch Police Story 4: First Strike since i have seen it before but that also means that it will not be in my opinions this round. I went into these movies kinda blind, with the exception of having seen Police Story 4, and didn't know what to expect.

In Police Story 1(1985) we follow Jackie Chan's character Chan Ka-kui, a police officer in Hong Kong. The plot is very straight forward, he gets framed for murder and need to clean his name. That's about as much plot your gonna get from an action/martial-arts/movie made in the middle of the 80's i guess. The story of the movie is really ok though, not bad but far from great. The have a lot of this weird awkward humor in the movie and some weird editing choices witch ruins it for me. Mainly the humor that makes it bad for me. What kinda saves the movie is Jackie Chan and his fighting capabilities. The fight at the end is very good and intense. Also, in the end credits you get too see the injuries and almost accidents of the stunt team. They gave it all in this one. This movie is for you if you love Jackie Chan, martial arts or Hong Kong movies. It is not for the average moviegoer. It's also made in Cantonese so if you don't like seeing movies in another language then english don't watch this.

TL;DR

It has an ok story with some very good fightscenes and a Jackie Chan that plays his role very well. This movie is Cantonese so remember subtitles. There are some weird and awkward humor which in my opinion is not good for the movie. This is not for the average moviegoer.

Game: Stranded Deep – My impressions and opinions

Another survival game in early access. There are so many now that i almost wish that someone would just take all an mush all of them together to one game. This game starts you out in a plane that is crashing and you wake up in a raft with a paddle. You got a couple of items on yourself like a lighter, which is very kind of them to give you. So you see islands in almost every direction you look, so you just have to get your paddlin' on. You can find boat wrecks and things like that for loot and there are of course sticks, stones and more that you can use for crafting. You do not get much help to know what you can craft and how to craft items. You either figure it out yourself or you go on google and find out.

First of, the good things. I like the look of the game. It doesn't look cheap or half-done. The underwater in particular is done nicely. When you see a little stick sticking up of the water it might be a mast from a sunken boat which is awesome. There are wildlife in this game, like sharks and they are terrifying. You are on a little raft and being circled by a shark, that's scary.

Over to what i don't like about it. First of all, i could not find an options for turning on borders. I have 3 monitors on my PC which means that every time the mouse got outside my game monitor it would minimize. Very annoying. Sometimes when you find a boat wreck and jump down the hatch for loot you can get stuck in there. I don't know if that's done on purpose or not because you can get out if you have a log or something to put up out the hatch. Either way, it's a stupid thing to have to restart over. What i really dislike is the paddling though. It takes so long to go from island to island it's ridiculous. I know you can make a raft and find motor parts so you can put a motor on the raft but until you get that everything move so slow. I don't mean they need to speed it up so you paddle as fast as the motor but a little would be nice.

I feel like this is another game that is not complete enough to be in early access. I know that sounds stupid but i think it will hurt it more then if it had been more done and been released. I'm afraid that a lot of people will be turned off because of how it is now(me included). It has potential though. My advise would still be to wait for the complete game to release.

TL;DR

Early access paddle-simulator with too little content. Underwater looks great, and there are sharks. Wait for the complete release unless you have a craving for another survival game.

Game: Battlefield Hardline BETA – My impressions & opinions

Battlefield Hardline is coming in March and they have just had their open beta test. In the beta there where 3 modes to choose from, regular conquest that is the same as it always have been, Heist that is more like get the package and drop it of at location X and Hotwire have conquest-marked cars that you drive around to bleed the other teams tickets. Hotwire is easily the funnest and fastest of the modes and a good change of pace from the standard of conquest

There are three maps, Bank Job, Downtown and Dust Bowl and they all have the mechanic Levolution. There are bollards to raise and/or lower, cranes to be brought down and so on. Nothing really new but it's still a neat mechanic. The maps are not bad but not great, hopefully there will be some better maps at launch.

The change of setting from hardcore military to cops and robbers works a lot better then it should. I thought it sounded stupid when i first heard about it but it really works great. Especially the criminals and their filthy comments.

Over to the stuff that i don't like. First of all, we still haven't got the destruction feel you got from Battlefield Bad Company 2. In Battlefield Bad Company 2 you could almost level every building on the map. After a match the map would look completely different, in a cool way and i miss it. My biggest problem is the same problem i had with Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 and that is Battlelog. Can't they have made the server select inside the game like in Battlefield Bad Company 2? Battlelog is nice for tracking stats and all that but server selecting should be inside the game. I haven't found a way to squad up before joining a game. It may be there but i haven't found it, so if it isn't there they need to get that option.

This still feel like Battlefield 4 so to make it feel like something more than a downloadable content/expansion they need to add a lot of content, that or they need to drop the price significantly.

TL;DR

New mode is fun, the new setting is not bad. Still using battlelog/browser to find server. Not enough destructibility. It still feels like Battlefield 4. Going to need a lot of content or a better price to make it worth it. So unless you are a hardcore Battlefield fan wait for a sale. It's more of the same again.

Top 10 most anticipated games of 2015

This is my list of my top 10 most anticipated games of 2015. If you don't like my picks then too bad, it's my list so it's my choice. Here are my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2015.

10. Grand Theft Auto V - PC Edition
One of the biggest games ever get's a huge face lift and comes to PC. I mean, the game looked good on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 but what they have showed us of the PC version looks amazing. What's annoying me is that we have to wait so long for the game, and I don't feel like playing the story again. All over a great game, but really late to the PC.

9. Dead Island 2
Set to release in Q2 it is the sequel too 2011's Dead Island. It's set several months after the events in Dead Island. I really don't know much more than that. A new developer is a little scary but Yager Development did make the great Spec Ops: The line. The multiplayer is where the draw is for me, but I am really getting tired of zombies.

8. Just Cause 3
Set to release in June, the sequel to Just Cause 2 is finally coming. The biggest reason for my excitement about this title is the grappling hook. In Just Cause 2 the grappling hook was the greatest thing ever and for Just Cause 3 they say they have vastly improved it. This is probably going to be one of those silly games that are great fun and you will keep playing because it is fun. I can't wait for this one.

7. Mighty No. 9
Keiji Inafune is leading this project that looks like a Mega Man clone, and that's is not so strange since Inafune is the designer of Mega Man. It's all there, jumping, shooting and acquiring weapons from defeated enemies. I love Mega Man, having grown up with an NES with Mega Man 2 and 3 the nostalgia factor here is kinda big. They are just fun run and gun games and I'm really exited to see what Inafune has created with his Mighty No. 9.

6. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Uncharted is one of those game series I just can't put down. It's such an big adventure I just have to see where it goes. I love Uncharted 1 – 3 and have great hopes for this. The fact that Naughty Dog, the developer, have new hardware in the Playstation 4 to play with also helps of course. Be sure to check out the gameplay demo from the 2014 Playstation Experience.

5.Mortal Kombat X
Mortal Kombat has been a part of my life for a long time now, and since 2011's Mortal Kombat I have been madly in love with it. The fighting, the flow, a great story mode and the fantastic gore, it's all I want. Mortal Kombat X look's as gory as ever, we get new characters, different fighting stances and faction wars. They are really going bigger and better with this and if you see any video of it there is no doubt about that. I'm so excited for this I can hardly contain myself. This is the fighter for me and I really hope it runs well on the PC.

4. Star Wars: Battlefront
When the first Battlefront came everyone said it was a Battlefield clone re-skinned so it looks like Star Wars. In Battlefront 2 I knew this was something special. A cool look at the story for Star Wars Episode 3 and forward to Hoth in Star Wars Episode 5 seen from a storm trooper legion. Then it went silent. Now DICE is here with their Frostbite 3 engine to do Star Wars Battlefront. I haven't seen a lot of things from the game but I have faith in this. We really need a good Star Wars game and since the canceled Star Wars 1313 this is our new hope(heheheh). It will probably play like a battlefield game but it's Star Wars and that is good enough for me.

3. Rainbow Six: Siege
The one thing that scares me about this is the developer/publisher. Ubisoft had a rough 2014 but it's their own fault I feel by releasing products that are not finished and so on. I still am hyped for this game even though I have seen very little of it. It looks kind of intense, if you die you are dead and it looks really tactical. The destruction looks great and it actually looks like you can shoot through walls. Hopefully it will be a great game and Ubisoft does not release until it's done.

2. Batman: Arkham Knight
Rocksteady Studios are back after not doing Arkham Origins. They have said that this will be the end of their Arkham trilogy. After what they did with Arkham City I am really excited to see what they can do now. Everything I see of this game looks stunning with great action. Getting to drive the batmobile will be awesome and a continuation after the events of Arkham City is going to be great. Hopefully the feel of the game is still there and the feel of being Batman is still strong. I don't see how this game can go wrong. The dark knight have never looked better.

1. Tom Clancy's The Divison
An Ubisoft game on top of the list may sound weird but if you have seen any footage of the game you probably understand why it is on the top. It looks so fantastic, I really don't know how they made this. I don't know how the massively multiplayer aspect of the game comes into play or things like that but I really hope this is all we are hoping for. It looks great, it seems like they have created a fantastic world and the Snowdrop engine looks like it is ridiculously powerful. Now Ubisoft, do not make this 30 FPS and that would be great.

Honorable mention:
-No Man's Sky

-Homefront: The Revolution

Top 10 most anticipated movies of 2015

This is my list of my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2015. If you don't like my picks then too bad, it's my list so it's my choice. Here are my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2015.

10. Ant-Man
I love superhero-movies. Ant-Man is a new movie from Marvel and they have not missed a beat yet so why will they start now. I really don't know much about Ant-Man but I'm pretty sure it's going to one hell of a movie. No one does superhero-movies like Marvel. I'm very exited to see Paul Rudd as Ant-Man just because i have been waiting for him to get a role like this. He's past movies have kinda been hit or miss for me but i have always know that he's a good actor, ever since i saw him on friends. This movie is going to be big.

9. Entourage
You know when people talk about TV-series they love. I'm one of those guys who loves shows. Not just like them, i love them. Firefly, Doctor Who, Sons of Anarchy, the list goes on and on, and on that list is Entourage of course. Entourage is all about trying to be an actor and all that comes with that, like agents, annoying auditions and so on. When i heard that they were making a movie to continue the series i was really stoked. The cast from the show is back(including Jeremy Piven and his fantastic acting(love it)) and the movie picks up right after the show's end. This is a must watch for me just because i loved the show so much. Can't wait.

8. Terminator Genisys
This one scares me. I love Terminator 1 and the second one is a masterpiece. Oh how i hope this is good. Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese is a brave choice i feel. If you saw A Good Day to Die Hard you might understand why i feel this way. Emilia Clarke we know can be a dominant force from Game of Thrones so hopefully she can fill the huge shoes of Linda Hamilton. I'm really exited to see Arnold in the role that made him go from Schwarzenegger too SCHWARZENEGGER though. You just know he's going too be a badass in this movie. So, scared of Jai Courtney, hopeful for Emilia Clarke, stoked for Arnold and skeptical to the story. Either way, a Terminator film is something i must see.

7. Inside Out
An animation movie from Pixar, of course it's going to be on the list. It's set inside the head of a little girl where you meet five emotions, Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Sadness. The emotions try to help her trough the change of movie to a new city and starting a new school. This movie looks great and the humor in the trailer is really good. This is going to be a very fun time.

6. Jupiter Ascending
OH MY. A Sci-Fi movie by the Wachowski's(directors of The Matrix trilogy) with Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum. I really hope it's good, there's a lot of things that can go wrong. It can be to stupid written or to preachy, but you know it's going to be a good time anyway. They did perfect the bullet-time effect. The Wachowski's have always had a great vision for both Sci-Fi and action and i look forward too see what they do with this one.

5. Jurassic World
It's been 22 years since the events of Jurassic Park, and the park is now open. A new dinosaur movie is about time, and the fact that it is in the Jurassic Park franchise helps the hype. Shortly told the geneticists team create a new dinosaur and Chris Pratt(Star Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy) needs to stop it. This is going to be a huge summer blockbuster, and i am so stoked. I still remember the first time i saw Jurassic Park and how amazing it was. The two sequels is not that good but it may look like this can be up to par to the original. I just can't wait to see dinosaurs on the big screen again.

4. Spectre
The director of Skyfall is back to direct the next James Bond movie in Spectre. I really like Daniel Craig as Bond and thinking of how good Skyfall was makes me real excited for this one. Another thing is the title. Spectre is the organization that Dr. No works for and is headed up by Ernst Stavro Blofeld. The organization has been in earlier Bond movies and it's going to be great to see again. I don't know if Blofeld is back or if it's someone else heading up the organization. I am also a huge James Bond fan in general so this is going to be great anyway.

3. Mission Impossible 5
Tom Cruise is back in one of his signature roles as agent Ethan Hunt. 3 out of 4 movies in this series is good and that makes me have great expectations for this one. Tom Cruise always give everything in his movies and the action in these flicks are always top notch. Cool gadgets, impossible missions and over the top action. This is hopefully going to be a great popcorn flick.

2. Avengers: Age of Ultron
More superheroes, every superhero. The huge superhero team-up of Marvel is back. The sequel to one of the biggest movies ever, Age of Ultron has huge hype. I first got affected by the hype when i saw the first trailer. It felt like the went in a little more mature way of making this one. We don't know if that is the case yet but i really would like it if they did take it in that direction. The fact that they have included Scarlet witch and Quicksilver is great, mostly because I'm a huge Quicksilver fan but also so that we get some new blood in the team. A stellar cast, a lot of superheroes, Marvel, Joss Whedon directing. I don't see how this can be a miss. This is going to be glorious.

1. Star Wars – The force awakens
Come on, this is not coming as a surprise on anyone. A new Star Wars, how freakin' awesome is that. The story is set 30 years after Episode VI and we really don't know anymore than that. We got a teaser-trailer that looked awesome but really doesn't say anything about what goes on in it. However, seeing the Millennium Falcon fly around and the X-Wing fly low over water almost made me scream. It also looked like we get a new effect for the light-sabers, or maybe it's just a new type of saber, who know. I don't know if it's going to rival the original trilogy but i really think that it's going to be better than the prequels. I am so ready for this, December can not come quick enough.

-The Man from U.N.C.L.E
-Fantastic Four
-Kingsman: The Secret Service

My top 10 movies of 2014

This is my list of my top 10 movies of 2014. You will probably feel like some movies are missing and that is probably because i have not watched them(like Interstellar) or i didn't like them. It's my list so it's my choice. Here are my top 10 movies of 2014,

10. The Expendables 3
The old guys are back. Let me just start of by saying that i love the 80's and 90's action genre. Yes it's stupid but sometimes you really just want stupid. I like the first Expendables movie and the second one was not as good but still great. Mindless and fun. These movies gives you just what you think, action and one-liners. Newcomers this time is Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford. Mel Gibson is awesome no matter how you feel about him as a person. The main problem of this movie is that it focuses on some younger people in the story instead of the real expendables. I paid too see the old guys do it like they used too. But it is still a straight forward descent action film, and it never tries to be anything else.

9. X-Men: Days of Future Past
The X-Men are back in this huge movie with a jaw dropping cast. Bryan Singer is also back for the first time since X-Men 2. This is also a kinda sequel to both X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: First Class which sounds kind of weird. As most people know, this is a time travel story so it works(and if you don't like time travel you should watch something else i guess). Hugh Jackman is back again as Wolverine, big as ever. McAvoy, Fassbender, Stewart and McKellen is also back to show us what acting is about again. Even Peter Dinklage is in this movie. The biggest problem i have with this movie, and the reason it is not higher on my list, is that i feel like we have heard the story before. The whole people are afraid of mutants and try to find ways to control them/kill them/tag them. I was really hoping for a new take on the X-Men but this story is the same as before just put in a different time.

8. How to Train Your Dragon 2
Yes this is an animated film, so what. It's a damn good animated film. There are dragons, fire, adventure, and feels. Oh the feels. It is beautifully animated with impressive particle effects and a stunning world it all is set in. The big problem with a lot of movies like this is getting the adventure and amazement out of the movie after seeing much of it in the first movie. This movie achieves this perfectly. Easily the best animated movie of 2014 and an exiting and fun adventure to watch.

7. 22 Jump Street
Earlier the old guys were back. Now the young guys are back. After the success of 21 Jump Street Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are back in this awesome flick. First thing first, Peter Stormare is in this movie and that is kind of an auto-win. Never the less the boys are as funny as ever. I'm still impressed of Channing's capability's as a comedic actor, and Jonah Hill's kinda awkward humor that is somehow still enjoyable(I don't really like awkward humor). The movie is also great at poking fun that it is a sequel. I really didn't think they could pull it off again but they did. It was action-comedy done right.

6. The Raid 2
First of all, if you haven't seen The Raid: Redemption you need to go do that. It's an incredible film that show's us how strong action can be if done right. So the sequel takes place only moments after the first one ends. Rama(the main character) have to step up to the plate again. Intense action scenes, the best hand to hand combat you have ever seen and a story you get invested in. Can you really ask for more in an action film. I have to say though that this is movie is Indonesian though the director is from Wales. The only thing I think is kinda bad is the run time. The first one lasted for 101 min. While these lasts for 150 min. I feel it's kinda long but it is worth the watch, every minute of it.

5. Godzilla
Godzilla is back to make us forget his 1998 performance and i feel like he succeeds in doing this. This movie has a much more real feel to it and when Godzilla come on the screen you are really impressed with him. Huge monster, great destruction. The movie suffers a little from bland characters but i did not go to a Godzilla movie to watch the characters, i came for Godzilla. The movie is also kind enough to give a little back story for the people who are not familiar with the Godzilla story. Beautifully shoot, amazing visuals, great movie.

4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The first Captain America movie was ok. It was not great and if you put it up against the other Marvel movies, like Thor and Iron man, it feels a little out of place. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier they showed us his place in the Marvel universe. The movie feels a little more like a Thriller than a standard popcorn flick at times and it is for the better. Captain is more about what is right and not blindly following orders, as he may have done in the past. You also feel like this movie was intended for a little more grown up audience too, not just for the teen/tween fanboy. Although it is a little long with it's 136 min run time it's still a solid movie and a must watch for superhero fans.

3. Edge of Tomorrow
I was so ready to hate this movie. The trailer looked stupid, i felt that the movies hook was already used good enough in other movies and so on. First things first, this movie is actually great. The action is great, Tom Cruise is great, Emily Blunt is great. It has fun moments, weird moments and great moments. The suits the have on is great. Anyway, everything evolve around Tom Cruise's character starts his day over every time he dies, and Emily Blunt's character knows something about it. I can't go into much more detail without going into spoilers and i won't do that. Just watch it if you like sci-fi action. It's a really good movie and i love it.

2. John Wick
Full disclosure, I love Keanu Reeves. I think he's better than a lot of people give him credit for. Look at movies like Speed, Point Break, Bill & Ted, The Devil's Advocate, Constantine and The Matrix. He's back in John Wick as the title character and he is glorious. He play's a retired hitman and someone kills his dog. You don't kill a hitman's dog. So he is pissed and very good at killing. Very good action, very nice shot, extremely good movie. Just don't go into it expecting something with a lot of crazy twist's. This kinda falls in the same category as the equalizer and Taken. Straight up action at it's best.

1. Guardians of the Galaxy
This was a nobrainer for me. First of all it is good too see some new characters in a Marvel movie and not just sequels. Chris Pratt plays Star-lord, a human kidnapped by aliens when he was a child and now, 26 years later he travels the galaxy trying to get rich and so the complications come. The entire cast is great with Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper and Dave Bautista. Perfect for their roles. It's a fun action-adventure that shows what you can do if you stick together. The movie also looks amazing. Good writing, good action, funny characters with chemistry and all over a fantastic movie.

My top games of 2014

This is my list of top games in 2014. You will probably feel like some games are missing and that is probably because i just haven't played them(Like Dragon Age: Inquisition) or i didn't like them. It's my list so it's my choice. Anyway, here are my top games of 2014.

9. Titanfall
When we first saw Titanfall it looked great. Fast running action and hard mech action. Dropping in your first titan was a great feeling and this is one of the reasons this game is on my list. Everything you did had a great feel to it. Battles look a lot more busy than they really are too, because of Respawns decision to have AI soldiers in the battle. What really drops this game down to spot 9 is how fast it got old and the so called campaign. The campaign was just maps from multiplayer with kind of a voice-over that told the story and why you were doing things. That and the fact that after 2 months of playing you didn't feel like going in-game anymore is the reason for the number 9 spot. Fun but only for a short while.

8. Double Dragon Neon
This game is kind of cheating to put on the list because it had its release in 2012, but i decided that it is ok since it came out for PC in 2014 and that's where i played it. I have to say, I'm a sucker for games like this. The nostalgia is strong with this one. I still remember playing the first Double dragon on my NES and this took me right back. Yes it looks kinda different and is a lot smoother but you still fight dudes that got your girlfriend. You also collect cassettes for moves and abilities which also feels like a good retro. The end is also fantastic(Don't want to spoil it but you who have completed the game knows what i mean). A solid sidescroller.

7. Depth
Depth was one of those games that came out of nowhere for me. I had heard the name but didn't know what it was or who made it. So it is pvp, you either play as one of four divers or you play as one of two sharks. Sharks kill players, players try to survive. Sounds kinda mediocre maybe but i loved it. I don't know how it is to play alone but with friends it is great fun. Also, it is not like some kind of deathmatch. Divers tries to secure loot while the shark is stopping us. Getting loot means buy better items like guns or sonar plus more. There are six levels as i recall and they all have something different about them. One is in a mine with tight corners and one is in very murky waters. What this game really wins on is how easy it is to pick up and play and the atmosphere. You are genuinely nervous for the sharks. I love it.

6. Wolfenstein: The New Order
Wolfenstein is FPS. This game, even though am not to happy about the story, has some of the coolest FPS levels in recent memory. You can dual-wield most weapons and go full Arnold on all enemies. There are also some fantastic characters in this game. If you have played it you probably remember someone you meet on a train. A fantastic scene. So, even if i don't like the story this game still deserves a spot for it's fantastic action elements and characters.

5. Banished
Another one of those games that just came out of nowhere. This game is all about making your little town grow and survive. You start with very little and have to tell people to build, hunt and chop. Got no wood for the winter and your town has frozen to death. No food and they starve. You really have to think about everything and that is what i like about it. You got no one to blame but yourself if you lose your people. And what do you do if one dies, who can take his job and what job is it ok to take one guy from. The fact that only one guy made this game is also very impressing.

4. Transistor
Supergiant games is back and again they hit the mark. Transistor is a beautiful game with fantastic music. The combat-system has a frozen planning mode that gives it a little more tactical feel and it works fantastic. I don't know what more to say, beautiful game, fantastic music and great combat. Brilliant game.

3. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
A new game set in Tolkiens world. A lot of people were nervous when thinking of another game in Tolkien's world because games in that world has not always been so good. Have no fear, Shadow of Mordor is good. It's damn good. The game takes place between The hobbit and The lord of the rings, and you play as Talion, a ranger captain of Gondor, out for revenge. The game borrows from other games but it still feel's like a different game than who they borrow from. The only thing i feel like is bad with this game is the fact that you are too powerful too early in the game, but when the orcheads start too fly you really don't care. There is a lot of side-missions to do and you also meet some familiar faces. An extremely solid game with great feel and you are a total badass.

2. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Another game that is kinda cheating to have on this list. It came out in 2013 but came out on PC in 2014 so i say it's ok. Oh this game, this game is fantastic. I love it to bits. You play as Raiden, who is now a cyborg and very skilled with his sword. A sword you use with great efficiency. You have a free slicing mode that let's you aim your slicing. If you start cutting an enemy soldier to pieces you also get a counter of how many pieces you have cut him into. I don't know why i need to know that but i feel like i really needed to know that. What really shines in this game, in my opinion, is the boss fights. They kinda feel like Metal Gear bosses but what i love is the music. When you fight a boss you first hear the metal music in the background. Then, when the boss jumps into the next phase you hear a little more of the metal music, and in the final phase of the boss fight they put on the lyrics in the song, and they are all kinda good. They match the fights perfectly and some of them get stuck on your mind. It is glorious. Fantastic hack and slash.

1. South Park: The Stick of Truth
This is kind of a weird one because I am not a fan of the TV-show. This game on the other hand is fantastic. Simply brilliant. First of, you play as a new kid which means that you meet all the familiar faces you know and love/hate. It is also an RPG so it makes sense that you get to play as a new one so you can play your role. A lot of nice loot an equipment, talents, perks, classes and more, this game got all the thing an RPG needs. Also, surprisingly, the story is good. Another thing that they did great is that everyone and everything moves just like in the show. I am very impressed with what they made here. It's fun, kinda offensive, weird and brilliant. An easy number 1 for me.
