Game: Stranded Deep – My impressions and opinions

Another survival game in early access. There are so many now that i almost wish that someone would just take all an mush all of them together to one game. This game starts you out in a plane that is crashing and you wake up in a raft with a paddle. You got a couple of items on yourself like a lighter, which is very kind of them to give you. So you see islands in almost every direction you look, so you just have to get your paddlin' on. You can find boat wrecks and things like that for loot and there are of course sticks, stones and more that you can use for crafting. You do not get much help to know what you can craft and how to craft items. You either figure it out yourself or you go on google and find out.

First of, the good things. I like the look of the game. It doesn't look cheap or half-done. The underwater in particular is done nicely. When you see a little stick sticking up of the water it might be a mast from a sunken boat which is awesome. There are wildlife in this game, like sharks and they are terrifying. You are on a little raft and being circled by a shark, that's scary.

Over to what i don't like about it. First of all, i could not find an options for turning on borders. I have 3 monitors on my PC which means that every time the mouse got outside my game monitor it would minimize. Very annoying. Sometimes when you find a boat wreck and jump down the hatch for loot you can get stuck in there. I don't know if that's done on purpose or not because you can get out if you have a log or something to put up out the hatch. Either way, it's a stupid thing to have to restart over. What i really dislike is the paddling though. It takes so long to go from island to island it's ridiculous. I know you can make a raft and find motor parts so you can put a motor on the raft but until you get that everything move so slow. I don't mean they need to speed it up so you paddle as fast as the motor but a little would be nice.

I feel like this is another game that is not complete enough to be in early access. I know that sounds stupid but i think it will hurt it more then if it had been more done and been released. I'm afraid that a lot of people will be turned off because of how it is now(me included). It has potential though. My advise would still be to wait for the complete game to release.

TL;DR

Early access paddle-simulator with too little content. Underwater looks great, and there are sharks. Wait for the complete release unless you have a craving for another survival game.
